About Us:
What is Chi Alpha?

Chi Alpha is a group of students at Wichita State, which also exists on hundreds of other campuses across the nation and around the world. Chi Alpha may use Greek letters, but it is not a fraternity or a sorority. The Greek letters Chi and Alpha are the first letters of the Greek words for "Christ" and "Ambassador" respectively, so the name reveals a major purpose of Chi Alpha: to be Christ's ambassadors to the campus. In other words, Chi Alpha is a student group that wants to serve as a tangible reminder to fellow students that a God that you can't see loves and cares about you, even if you don't believe in Him.

More than that, Chi Alpha is a Christian fellowship that provides a place for Christian students to grow in their faith and develop a stronger personal relationship with God. Chi Alpha is also a safe place for those that may be curious about Christianity to come and learn about Christ and the Bible. Everyone is welcome. Everyone can benefit.

The idea behind Chi Alpha is not to be just another student organization, something that you write on your resume, but to be a place where lives are transformed for the better. Through Chi Alpha close lifelong friendships develop. God has used Chi Alpha to work miracles in people's lives, to bring peace, healing, freedom from bondage, and to make broken lives new.
